The 2022 Venice Film Festival [1] is officially underway, and celebrities are flocking to Italy to promote their new projects. On 5 Sept. Harry Styles arrived in the Italian city alongside his fellow "Don't Worry Darling" castmates [2], including Chris Pine [3], Gemma Chan, and girlfriend Olivia Wilde [4]. On 3 Sept., Timothée Chalamet [5] wowed attendees both on the red carpet with his stunning red jumpsuit and on the big screen with his buzzy performance in Luca Guadagnino's new film, "Bones and All." [6] Meanwhile, on 31 Aug., Jodie Turner-Smith, Adam Driver, Don Cheadle [7], and Greta Gerwig all stepped out for the premiere of "White Noise [8]," which is based on the 1985 novel of the same name by Don DeLillo. The film will also play at the New York Film Festival this autumn before it hits cinemas on 25 Nov.
Other stars in Venice include Ana de Armas, Hugh Jackman [9], Regé-Jean Page, Tessa Thompson, Sadie Sink, Cate Blanchett [10], Barbara Palvin, and Julianne Moore, who is serving as the president of the competition jury this year. "The first time I was in Venice, I was an actress on an American soap opera, it was 1986. If I had known then I would be here as the president of the jury, I would have fallen in the canal!" Moore told The Hollywood Reporter [11].
This year's Venice Film Festival lineup features a bevy of star-studded projects, including Darren Aronofsky's "The Whale," Alejandro González Iñárritu's "Bardo," Todd Field's "Tár [12]," and the long-awaited Olivia Wilde-directed "Don't Worry Darling [13]",which also stars Chris Pine and Florence Pugh [14].
