Italian influencer Chiara Ferragni and her husband, rapper Fedez, raised an impressive €3+ million for coronavirus intensive care units. The couple raised the funds through their joint GoFundMe page, The Ferragnez, on behalf of Milan's San Raffaele Hospital; imagine being that influential.

The pair's GoFundMe campaign, "Coronavirus: Rafforziamo La Terapia Intensiva", translated to "Coronavirus: We Strengthen Intensive Care", surpassed its original goal of €1,500,000 so quickly that The Ferragnez had to almost triple the fundraising target to 4 million euros. The money raised will go toward fans, noninvasive ventilation devices, hemodynamic monitoring, and monitors for the intensive care unit at Milan's San Raffaele Hospital. Singer Dua Lipa, social media personality Mia Khalifa, and dozens of Italian influencers have poured in donations and shared their own videos encouraging others to do the same — not to mention Chiara and Fedez's joint Instagram following of 27.9 million users.

Following celebrity efforts to raise millions of pounds for the bushfires in Australia in January, it's commendable that those with social media influence are using their platforms to help combat this global health emergency. "This is the power of social media when used in the right way," shared Chiara in a caption on her Instagram profile. "I'm so proud of you 🙏🏻 Let's keep donating and making a change."

Ahead, get a closer look at how Chiara Ferragni is supporting coronavirus intensive care efforts.
