News Flash: Dakota Johnson Admits She's Allergic to Limes and Lied During Her Viral Home Tour

Dakota Johnson's tour of her charming Los Angeles home for Architectural Digest is one of my favourite things on the internet, with the pièce de résistance being the chic bowl of limes in her cosy green kitchen. But sadly, Johnson admitted to Jimmy Fallon that she didn't even know the limes would be there, and she's actually mildly allergic — how could she betray us so effortlessly?!

After watching Johnson call out Ellen DeGeneres on that viral 2019 interview from The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Fifty Shades of Grey star instantly became my favourite celebrity. So much so that her home tour for Architectural Digest is a video I share with everyone when I talk about my love for her. To my dismay, she joined The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to admit that her love of limes was an on-the-spot lie, and boy, did she get us good.

"Last March, you gave a tour to Architectural Digest, and the internet loved it," said Fallon. "I loved it, too. People were fascinated with your green kitchen and your love of limes. During the tour, you very clearly state that you love limes. Now, what do you do with all those limes?"

"I actually didn't know that they were in there," Johnson confesses. "I was giving the tour and went into the kitchen, and it was set dressing. I'm actually, I'm allergic to limes. Yeah, I'm mildly allergic, and honeydew melon, another green thing."

"So it was just set dressing, it looked pretty, and you're like 'yeah, I love limes', just talking, going with the flow?", Fallon asked. Johnson confirmed that, "Yeah, because it was hard to just ignore them, so I just lied." Although she deceived us all about that beautiful bowl of limes, we still admire Johnson for telling it like it is.
