July 2019: Dua and Anwar Are Spotted Coupling Up at a Music Festival.

Whispers about whether or not Dua and Anwar were an item began circling in June 2019, but it wasn't until a month later at the 2019 British Summer Time Hyde Park music festival we got visual proof that the two are definitely more than friends. That May, Dua had just split from longtime boyfriend Isaac Carew and Anwar had been linked to Kendall Jenner, though both said there was nothing between them.

September 2019: Anwar and Dua Confirm Their Relationship at New York Fashion Week.

Dua and Anwar made their first New York Fashion Week appearance together as a couple at the Marc Jacobs Spring 2020 runway show, confirming their relationship. They showed up in bright colour-coordinated outfits paired with heart-shaped accessories. Earlier that month, their relationship had reached another serious milestone when Dua accompanied Anwar to his grandmother's funeral in the Netherlands.

November 2019: They Pack On the PDA at the American Music Awards.

The loved-up duo walked the red carpet together at the 47th American Music Awards, marking their first red-carpet appearance as a couple. The PDA was everywhere in sight from smooches in front of the cameras to not being able to keep their hands off one another while on the carpet.

June 2020: Dua Posts a Tribute in Honour of Their First Anniversary.

On June 14, 2020, the "Don't Start Now" singer took to Instagram to boast about her boyfriend on their one year anniversary. "Nothing sweeter than 365 days joint at the hip with you," she captioned the anniversary post, which featured a photo gallery documenting their relationship from over the last 12 months.

July 2020: They Adopt a Dog.

Dua and Anwar are a family of three! Meet their sweet fur-baby Dexter, who they rescued from Labelle Foundation, a nonprofit animal rescue organisation. Dexter celebrated his first birthday in May and enjoys long walks on the beach, cuddles, and playing with objects twice his size. Dua calls their fam "3 peaaaaz in a pod."

August 2020: Anwar Makes an Appearance in Dua's New Music Video.

The singer dropped a sultry music video for her smash hit "Levitating" featuring Madonna and Missy Elliott (The Blessed Madonna Remix) on Aug. 14, and with it, a very special surprise: a cameo of her boyfriend! Anwar first makes an appearance at the two-minute mark then continues to pop up throughout the video. If we needed anymore confirmation that they're perfect together, this is it.

January 2021: Dua Tells Rolling Stone Anwar Inspired Her Future Nostalgia Album.

In her January 2021 cover story for Rolling Stone magazine, Dua opened up about how Anwar inspired the music behind her most recent album. "When I was creating [my] first album, a lot of what was going on in my life was about heartbreak. This time around, I was feeling so happy, and things were going so well; I was like, 'Okay, I need to be able to portray this feeling in a way that doesn't feel cheesy to me,'" she said. The singer added that this is perhaps the most "comfortable" she's ever felt in a relationship.

February 2021: Dua Tells British Vogue She Prefers to Keep Their Relationship Offline.

Dua graced the cover of British Vogue for its February issue. In her interview, she revealed that though at times it might not seem like it, both she and Anwar like to keep their relationship private. "We have all these incredible memories and experiences, and if there's something that we want to share together, then OK, that's fun," she told the magazine, referencing the moments she has shared to Instagram. "But at the same time, we're quite private – we'll only show you as much as we want you to see." The "We're Good" singer explained the whole thing has been "a little give and take." "I want to be able to just be happy in this relationship without having other people's opinions," she said.

June 2021: Dua Wishes Anwar a Heartfelt Happy Birthday.

It's a love declaration and happy birthday post all rolled into one! On June 22, Dua posted a lengthy photo gallery in honour of Anwar's 22nd birthday to Instagram. In her caption she tells Anwar, "You make my world so much better!! I'm lucky to love you and be loved by you." *Cue us swooning!*
