Whispers about whether or not Dua and Anwar were an item began circling in June 2019, but it wasn't until a month later at the 2019 British Summer Time Hyde Park music festival we got visual proof that the two are definitely more than friends. That May, Dua had just split from longtime boyfriend Isaac Carew and Anwar had been linked to Kendall Jenner [5], though both said there was nothing between them.
September 2019: Anwar and Dua Confirm Their Relationship at New York Fashion Week.
Dua and Anwar made their first New York Fashion Week appearance together as a couple at the Marc Jacobs Spring 2020 runway show, confirming their relationship [6]. They showed up in bright colour-coordinated outfits paired with heart-shaped accessories. Earlier that month, their relationship had reached another serious milestone when Dua accompanied Anwar to his grandmother's funeral [7] in the Netherlands.

July 2020: They Adopt a Dog.
Dua and Anwar are a family of three! Meet their sweet fur-baby Dexter [10], who they rescued from Labelle Foundation, a nonprofit animal rescue organisation. August 2020: Anwar Makes an Appearance in Dua's New Music Video.
The singer dropped a sultry music video [12] for her smash hit "Levitating" featuring Madonna [13] and Missy Elliott (The Blessed Madonna Remix) on Aug. 14, and with it, a very special surprise: a cameo of her boyfriend! January 2021: Dua Tells Rolling Stone Anwar Inspired Her Future Nostalgia Album.
In her January 2021 cover story for Rolling Stone magazine, Dua opened up about how Anwar inspired the music behind her most recent album [14]. "When I was creating [my] first album, a lot of what was going on in my life was about heartbreak. This time around, I was feeling so happy, and things were going so well; I was like, 'Okay, I need to be able to portray this feeling in a way that doesn't feel cheesy to me,'" she said. The singer added that this is perhaps the most "comfortable" she's ever felt in a relationship.
February 2021: Dua Tells British Vogue She Prefers to Keep Their Relationship Offline.
Dua graced the cover of British Vogue for its February issue. In her interview, she revealed that though at times it might not seem like it, both she and Anwar like to keep their relationship private.
