It's not every day you see pop royalty meet actual royalty, but that's what happened at the 2022 Booker Prize for Fiction ceremony. On 17 Oct., Queen Consort Camilla was spotted rubbing shoulders with none other than Dua Lipa — and fans were into it.

Wearing a black velvet Burberry dress with a plunging sweetheart neckline and mesh opera gloves, Lipa was filmed chatting with the Queen Consort, telling her that she was "totally honoured" to be speaking at the event. It is thought Lipa was seen saying "no singing tonight", although she did bust out "Happy Birthday" to shortlisted author, Alan Garner. One fan tweeted, "I LOVE DUA LIPA!!!!! And here she is chatting it up with Camilla, LOVE THIS!!!!" while another commented that the meeting was "Too fun!!!".

Camilla, who also wore a black cocktail dress, was in attendance to present the Booker Prize winner, Sri Lankan author Shehan Karunatilaka, with his award. She took her sister, Annabel Elliot, along with her as she spent the evening talking to the authors as well as the "New Rules" singer. Eve Smith, secretary of the Booker Prize Foundation, revealed how thrilled they were that Camilla was in attendance. "...so when we found out that she was going to come — we'd sort of assumed that she wouldn't, just, you know, when the Queen died and she became the Queen Consort, we sort of assumed this might be one of the things that she had to let go, but no, she's here, so it's great," Smith said as per Hello magazine.

The "Potion" singer, who recently confirmed she's single after rumours swirled that she was dating Trevor Noah, spoke at the prestigious literary event at the Roundhouse, London, telling the attendees of the impact reading has had on her life. "It's such an honour to be amongst some of the world's greatest literary minds to talk about one of the most profound joys in the world: the simple pleasure of reading a book," Lipa said. "Reading is a passion that has taken many forms for me. Like countless other London school children, my early obsessions included Roald Dahl and Malorie Blackman, both of whom gave me little pearls of wisdom that still guide me today."

While both Queen Consort Camilla and Lipa share a passion for reading, could they perhaps be forming an unlikely friendship? We'd love to see the royal family in the crowd for Lipa's "Future Nostalgia" tour, that's for sure!
