In a BuzzFeed interview, Finneas reveals that he's never bought a CD. At best, he rented Ke$ha's Animal album from the library and burned it onto his iTunes.
Despite coming from a family where auditions were fairly routine, Finneas told BuzzFeed that he failed his first audition — a medication commercial!
Finneas also shared with BuzzFeed that "Ocean Eyes" is not his first song ever. Far from it, actually. Before that song was released, he said that he previously wrote 200 or 300 songs that he intends to never make public.
If you're thinking about working with Finneas on a music project, you better knock his socks off. He only accepts one percent of those requests. He explained on Instagram that this is due to a lack of time. He said "I don't have much time at my disposal which sadly forces me to turn down 99% of the projects I get approached about..."

In an AfterBuzz TV interview from 2015, Finneas revealed that his destiny was in the entertainment industry and describes his interactions with academics as "terrible."
Like his sister Billie, Finneas has synesthesia. For him, it means he sees colours in relation to music. He makes the point that synesthesia is not a "superpower" as people sometimes think, and can be pretty debilitating and intense.
Given his musical talents, it shouldn't come as a surprise that he acted in Glee. His character Alistair appears in season six as a member of New Directions.

Finneas is head over heels in love with social media phenom Claudia Sulewski, and the pair are too damn cute. When he was trying to win her over, he wrote a song called "Claudia" and sent it to her. So. Sweet!
Unsurprisingly, Finneas wants a guitar nearby at all times. You never know when inspiration could strike, so he always keeps one handy. "Wanted a guitar that I could keep with me in every hotel room and on every bus ride so I could always write," he said on Facebook.
