Greta Thunberg on BBC Radio 1 With Greg James

Greta Thunberg’s Radio 1 Appearance Was Equal Parts Hilarious and Endearing

Greta Thunberg appeared on BBC Radio 1 this morning for a hilarious discussion surrounding unpopular opinions. The environmental activist joined presenter Greg James on 19 April to talk all things TV shows, human dog names, and IKEA meatballs, and while that seems like a pretty bizarre combination, trust us, it worked. Thunberg joined the show to debate the unpopular opinions from various Radio 1 listeners, with the first being that IKEA meatballs simply aren't all that. Thunberg admitted that despite being a vegan, the sheer Swedish pride she has means that she had to be "deeply offended" by the opinion, and we're with her on that.

One of the other opinions debated was the controversial idea that dogs should not be given human names. The listener, whose opinion was in question, admitted that his dog is called Taxi (already a great idea), which led Thunberg to share that she actually has two dogs, a black Labrador and a Golden Retriever, who go by the names of Moses and Roxy. The wonderful exchange all resulted in Thunberg singing a solo to Radio 1's unpopular opinions theme song, after a few sweet attempts at a duet with James, and it was incredibly charming.
