Who Is Harry Kane's Wife, Kate Goodland?

Harry Kane First Met His Wife Kate Goodland When They Were Just 4 Years Old

It's shaping up to be a huge year for Harry Kane. The England captain has achieved great success in his football career, becoming the second top goal scorer of all time in the Premier League (only Alan Shearer has scored more than him), but it's his latest move from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern Munich that has seen him hit the headlines this season. And through it all, there has been one person by his side: his wife, Kate Goodland. While football fans have been following every tidbit of information to do with Harry's hotly-anticipated departure from Tottenham after 19 years for a record £100million to play in Germany's Bundesliga, fans have also been keen to learn more about his family and love life.

Born-and-bred in Chingford, East London, the 30-year-old can date his relationship with his wife back to when he was just four years old. Kate even recalled in an Instagram post that Harry always said he'd be England captain when they were kids. Having turned his dream into reality, the Kanes are leaving their home for the "Bavarian Beverley Hills", according to the Daily Mail, with the family having left for Munich on 11 August. The family also visited Harry's new home turf, the Allianz Arena, which he documented on Instagram, writing, "A special moment to share with family 💙".

Kate was heavily pregnant as the family uprooted their lives, as she was due to give birth to their fourth baby. Harry admitted they "have a lot going on" in a post-match interview when asked about the move.

It's clear that they'll have no problems navigating this new chapter though, as Kate has been by Harry's side ever since he kicked-off his crazy career by joining Spurs at the age of 16. Read ahead to see a timeline of Harry and Kate's epic love story.

1997 - 2008: Harry and Kate Become Friends at Primary School

Harry and Kate's love story dates all the way back to when they were just four years old. Both from Chingford, East London, the pair attended Larkswood Primary School in their local area. They then moved on to the same secondary - Chingford Foundation School - which already had impressive alumni, and in 2005 the duo got to meet one of their most famous former pupils: David Beckham. Thanks to their shared love of football and sports, Harry and Kate were pictured with Becks at the David Beckham Football Academy launch at London's Buoy Wharf. The picture resurfaced and went viral during the 2022 World Cup.

For their end of school prom back in 2009, Harry and Kate went as each other's dates, both aged 16. The adorable snap shows they even coordinated their outfits as Harry wore an orangey-red shirt to match Kate's orange dress. In 2014, Kate shared a throwback of their prom picture on Instagram, with the caption, "Joining the throwback people 🙊haha major throw back #school #prom 😂😂😂😂😂 @harrykane".

Fast-forward a couple of years, and reports claim that the duo officially began dating in 2011. It was during these years that Harry began his football career with Spurs and Kate focused on her own career, getting a bachelor's degree in Sports Science and becoming a personal trainer. Speaking of their young relationship, in an interview with The Evening Standard in 2016, Harry said: "When I was in school she was my friend. We always spoke, but just got closer and closer and it went from there. She's seen my whole career. Of course she's finding it a little crazy." He added: "I'm lucky that I've got a childhood sweetheart."

Kicking off 2017 on a high, Harry and Kate welcomed their first baby daughter, Ivy Jane Kane, on 8 January. Becoming parents at the age of 23, the two were already dog-parents and used a cute picture of their labradors, Brady and Wilson, to announce that they were expecting their first baby back in 2016. The arrival of their daughter was just the beginning of a milestone year as just seven months later on 1 July, Harry popped the question while on holiday in the Bahamas. Announcing their engagement through his Twitter account, Harry shared a snap taken while he was down on one knee with the caption, "She said YES".

A year-and-a-half after the birth of their first daughter, Harry and Kate welcomed their second daughter, Vivienne Jane Kane, born on 8 August, 2018. Harry, 25 at the time, shared a snap to Instagram of his grinning girlfriend holding their baby daughter with the caption, "Our beautiful addition to the family! Vivienne Jane Kane. So proud of @kategoodersxx for having the most amazing water birth with no pain relief at all." A year before Vivienne's arrival, Harry said in an interview that the "bravest" thing he'd ever done was to become a dad at a young age.

In March 2019, Kate joined Harry at Buckingham Palace to receive his MBE award from Prince William. Just a few months later in June, the two tied the knot in an exotic location two years after getting engaged. Harry shared a black and white picture to Twitter with the caption, "Finally got to marry my Best Friend! I love you @KateGoodlandx". While a lot of the wedding details have been kept under wraps, Harry did share an Instagram post of the "Kaneland Games 2019" that took place on day one of their wedding trip; a Sports-day themed event with guests split into "Team Kate" and "Team Harry". A fitting activity seen as they both became close through their love for sports.

At the end of 2020, on 29 Dec., Harry and Kate welcomed their third child - a son named Louis Harry Kane. Harry again shared the news in an Instagram post with the caption, "Our beautiful baby boy has arrived. 29/12/2020. Louis Harry Kane. I couldn't be more proud of my wife @katekanex. Special way to finish the year. Happy New Year everyone." The couple previously publicly announced that they were having a boy in a football-themed gender reveal party back in July of that year.

Ahead of the Euros final, on 10 July, 2021, Kate shared a snap to Instagram of the good luck letter she sent to Harry before the big game. The heartfelt tribute was full of anecdotes from the early days in their relationship. Kate began the letter: "H, you know I am not one to cry too easily but I found myself in tears when I started writing down how proud you're making us all and what you're doing for the country. I used to laugh at you when we started going out and you'd be round at mine playing penalties with my brother Tom and Seamus the dog, and you'd say you would be England captain one day. But that's you - you set yourself a goal and you achieve it and you always said you were going to the Euros to get to the final."

On 29 March, Harry and Kate announced that they are expecting their fourth baby, sharing the news via Instagram, writing: "Over the moon to be expecting baby No.4! Coming soon…" Harry shared an adorable snap to Instagram asking fans what they thought the gender will be, while revealing what his kids thoughts are: "Vivi: Girl, Ivy: Boy, Louis: Car".

Now, the Kane family embark on a completely new chapter as they leave their home, just a stone-throw away from their hometown Chigwell, and move to a new country. With Kate heavily pregnant and due to give birth in just a couple of weeks, there's a lot of speculation that the fitness instructor will have the baby in Germany. A source told The Sun: "Kate flew out to Munich to do a recce at the end of last month as the deal got closer. They knew that if it got over the line they'd need to be able to relocate very quickly."

Just days after heading to Germany, Kate gave birth to the couple's fourth child: a son named Henry Edward. They posted a cute snap of Harry holding their new addition on Instagram to announce the happy news.
