On 16 Dec. 2020, TV presenter Laura Whitmore [3] shared the incredibly exciting news that she's expecting her first child with partner Love Island presenter Iain Stirling. [4]
Laura made the announcement on her Instagram feed by sharing a sweet photo of a tiny onesie [5], which had "Sweet Child O' Mine Coming 2021" written on it. Alongside the photo, Laura wrote a lengthy caption about the news, which read:
"So I've always tried to be protective over the personal side of my life. A lot of things are just for me and my loved ones and we've chosen not to share publicly. However I want to now share good news as it's our news to share - and I'm gonna be honest it's starting to look like my lock down beer belly is out of control. Iain and I are expecting a baby early 2021. It's been hard to keep such happy news quiet. Especially the times when I've had to run out of live radio to get sick in a bin or my penchant for a bowl of mashed potato in the morning. I wasn't hungover like everyone thought. In fact I was completely sober filming the entire series of Celeb Juice, which is quite the accolade! We'd appreciate our privacy respected but just wanted to spread some love and a reminder of the beauty of life ❤️"
Love from celebrity friends quickly came flooding in. "The best news. Congrats x", commented fellow presenter Dermot O'Leary and Ella Eyre [6] excitedly wrote: "❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ THE BEST NEWS ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ CONGRATS TO YOU BOTH ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️"
Laura also shared that she'll be having a baby girl in her new book, No One Can Change Your Life Except for You [7]. "As I finish this book, it doesn't end at chapter nine, there's a new chapter coming into my life — in the form of a baby girl currently growing inside me and that scares the sh*t out of me," RTÉ reported. [8]
The couple haven't shared any further details other than the due date being early 2021. We wish them all the best. Congrats!
