Between his jaw-dropping red carpet looks and a steamy performance of "Montero (Call Me by Your Name)," it's safe to say that Lil Nas X had one hell of a night at the 2021 BET Awards on June 27. To top it all off, he got the chance to hang out with Tyler, the Creator backstage in an adorable full-circle moment. During a December 2020 interview with Zane Lowe, Lil Nas X spoke about how artists like Tyler, the Creator and Frank Ocean were instrumental in helping him come out. "I think artists like Frank in general and, like, Tyler and whatever, they made it easier for me to be where I am, comfortably," he shared. "Being one of those people that was like, 'OK, I want to make room for you now.' So everybody who's coming behind me, 'OK. This is going to be cool. It's going to work out fine.'"
Could a new celebrity friendship be in the works? We hope so. It seems we're not the only ones hoping for something to come from this interaction, as fans on Twitter were quick to question whether a collab was in the duo's future.
