Ashley Park and Lily Collins are set to star as Mindy and Emily, respectively, on Netflix's upcoming Emily in Paris [1] series, and much like their characters, the ladies are real-life friends. The two often posts photos of their adventures on Instagram and make sure to support each other's projects [2]. When the show wrapped up filming in November 2019, Lily penned a sweet note to Ashley [3] on Instagram, writing, "The show may have brought us together but now, we have each other for life. I'm going to miss you so much. Emily is Emily because of you."
Ashley expressed similar sentiments [4] back in February when Lily cheered her on at a showing of her Grand Horizons play. "As we close #GrandHorizons tomorrow, I realise how moving it is to have my @lilyjcollins watch the show and in my Broadway dressing room. Both 'Jess' (my character in the play) and Lily (during our time @emilyinparis) were integral proponents of my journey into claiming my womanhood and light this past year," she wrote on Instagram. "I'm a different person because of empowerment from sisters like you Lily, you deepen my life while uplifting me so effortlessly. You inspire me in every way, but mostly to be the best person I can be. And I still can't believe we get to WORK together. Love you, keep soaring ❤️."
