Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra announced via Instagram that they'd welcomed their first child together, a baby girl, on Jan. 21. Chopra shared the news in a post that read, "We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much."
Three months later, the name of their child has been revealed. On April 21, People reported that the new parents named their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. She was born just after 8 p.m. on Jan. 15 at a hospital in San Diego, per the birth certificate obtained by TMZ. Jonas and Chopra haven't shared their daughter's name on social media yet, but the family recently celebrated their first Easter together. On Sunday, Chopra posted a carousel of photos on Instagram captioned, "Happy Easter from us 🐣❤️🥰."
After their daughter's birth, a source told People that Jonas and Chopra have "wanted a baby for some time." "They both are truly eager to be parents," the source told the outlet in January. "This is a happy time for all. Nick and Priyanka are definitely ready for this new challenge in their lives. It is something they have both wanted . . . Now is their time, and they could not be more ready to raise a child."
Jonas and Chopra's daughter, Malti, is the latest addition to the famous family. The little one joins her trio of girl cousins: Kevin and Danielle Jonas's daughters, 8-year-old Alena and 5-year-old Valentina, and Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's daughter, 1-year-old Willa.
