Jonathan Van Ness's Friendship with Nicola Coughlan Is Adorbs: "'Oh My God, I Love Her!"
When it comes to celebrities we're high-key obsessed with, there are few who rank higher than "Queer Eye"'s Jonathan Van Ness and "Bridgerton"'s Nicola Coughlan. We didn't even realise we needed these two pure baby angel souls to be friends until they suddenly started cheering one another on from afar through social media, and immediately, we were hooked.
The pair's (platonic) love affair first went public on 14 Jan., 2019, when the Coughlan posted a photo with the hair stylist on Twitter and captioned it with, "Obv in love ❤️." Since then, they celebrated together when Northern Ireland legalised same-sex marriage and abortion, went on a group holiday to Hawaii, and experienced Beyoncé's "Renaissance Tour" together amid a slew of celebrity appearances in June 2023 (to say that we're jealous is an understatement).
Van Ness has now confirmed that their love started long before they posted their first photo together. Back in March, 2018, Coughlan posted a video on Twitter, showing off a custom hoodie that she had made herself, which featured Van Ness's face front and centre. And in a recent interview with POPSUGAR, the JVN Hair founder explained how that clip sparked the start of their long-distance friendship. "I saw that video and I was like, 'oh my God, I love her!', cause I'd already like seen all of "Derry Girls" season one and I was obsessed," Van Ness told POPSUGAR. "We just made friends after that...We've been really close friends ever since."
