Prince George Turns 9! See His New Birthday Portrait
Prince George is turning 9! On Thursday, Kate Middleton and Prince William released a new portrait to mark their son's birthday, which is on 22 July. In the photo, George — who recently made his Wimbledon debut — flashes a big smile in a blue polo shirt. "George is turning 9! 🎂🎈," the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge captioned their post on Instagram.
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to share a new photograph of Prince George ahead of his ninth birthday tomorrow," Will and Kate said in a statement. The photograph was taken by Kate during a family holiday in the UK earlier this month.
Kate has made it a tradition to take her children's birthday portraits over the years. Earlier this year, the duke and duchess shared a series of photos taken by Kate for Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis's respective birthdays in May and April.
