Then in August 2023, the couple's second baby arrived [6], another boy named Riot.
In the year-plus since RZA was born, Rihanna and Rocky have shared a couple of adorable glimpses of him, from social media [7] to their family's spread in British Vogue [8]. Rocky even featured the tiny tot in his ad for Beats by Dre that dropped on 20 July. And now, just a few months after welcoming Riot, Rihanna and Rocky have shared the first photos of him, per People [9].
Rihanna and Rocky first connected during the early 2010s. After the rapper hopped on a remix of Rihanna's song "Cockiness (Love It)" [10] in 2011, the rapper joined her on her "Diamonds" world tour in 2013. Rihanna [13] gave birth to her first child with A$AP Rocky in Los Angeles in May 2022. On 19 May, 2022, TMZ [14] broke the news that the couple had welcomed a baby boy, which was confirmed by Entertainment Tonight [15] shortly after. Rihanna [16] and Rocky remained mum about their son for the first few months of parenthood; they didn't immediately share photos or videos of him and waited to reveal his name. In a November 2022 interview with the Associated Press [17], Rihanna explained why they initially chose not to share their baby's name publicly. "We just didn't get around to it yet, really. We've just been living," she said. "But I guess there's a certain freedom that comes with kind of just like getting it out there."
Since then, Rihanna and Rocky have gradually opened up about their experience raising their son. The "Love on the Brain" singer told ET [18] in November 2022 that her mornings have completely changed since becoming a mother. "Seeing a baby with, like, little bags and waking up, and they're just, like, startled. They're trying to figure out where they're at. It's the cutest, it's my favourite part of the day," she said. "He's amazing, he's a happy baby."
In December 2022, Rihanna gave the world a first glimpse at her son [19] on TikTok. The clip showed the infant giggling while sitting in a car seat. Rihanna could also be heard in the background laughing as she asks her RZA, "You tryna get Mummy's phone?" The baby then reaches out his hand and grabs the phone from his mother. "Hacked," Rihanna captioned her TikTok.
Rocky told Zane Lowe in an 18 Jan. interview [20] that becoming a father has given him a new "perspective" on life. "It honestly helps you get home to your family and get home to your baby. And I can't even explain it, man. You come home to heaven every day. I'm so thankful. God is good, man," he said.
On their son's first birthday, the couple officially revealed his name [21]: RZA.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky's Son, Riot Rose
On 21 Aug., Entertainment Tonight [22] confirmed that Rihanna [23] and Rocky welcomed their second child together, though no other details about the little one were revealed at the time. A source told ET, "Rihanna [24] and ASAP will spend the early days of parenthood out of the public eye and won't make any immediate plans to debut the new baby."
Those plans changed on 19 Sept. when People published photos of the two posed with their newborn son.
