The Derry Girls Attended the RuPaul’s Drag Race Launch Party, and We Smell a Guest Appearance
Think midweek evenings are dull? Think again, because if RuPaul's Drag Race UK has anything to do with it, Tuesday evenings just got very, very fabulous.
The RuPaul's Drag Race UK contestants attended their first red pink carpet in London on Tuesday night to celebrate the launch of the show, and it was a marvellous occasion. The contestants were joined by equally fabulous guests including Jamie-Lee O'Donnell and Nicola Coughlan from hit show Derry Girls — and we can't be the only ones crossing our fingers for a possible guest appearance. Also in attendance was Love Island's Curtis Pritchard with brother AJ Pritchard, who will both join the show as guest dance coaches, and TV presenter Scarlett Moffatt.
The contestants will begin battling it out to win the title of "Queen of Great Britain" next month, and they're definitely going to bring the drama. They were all hand-picked by RuPaul: "Each of the UK queens is so unique, so courageous and so special. I can't wait for the UK — and the world — to fall in love with them the same way I did," RuPaul said in a statement.
In addition to RuPaul, Graham Norton and Alan Carr will appear as rotating judges, and there will be plenty of other guest judges on the show including Cheryl, Twiggy, Maisie Williams, Geri Horner, Andrew Garfield, Jade Thirlwall from Little Mix, and actress Michaela Coel.
RuPaul's Drag Race UK is available to watch from Oct. 3. on BBC Three, via BBC iPlayer. In the meantime, here's where to follow each of the queens.
