Stormzy Is "So Happy" to Finally Get a Selfie With Taylor Swift at the 2022 MTV EMAs
While the 2022 MTV EMAs celebrated the best in music on 13 Nov., there's one award the TV channel failed to recognise: best selfie. And we know exactly who that should go to. Stormzy, who performed at the awards show in Düsseldorf, Germany, filmed a series of Instagram stories backstage as he tried to get a selfie with the biggest winner of the evening: Taylor Swift. And if there's ever proof needed that you should never give up on your dreams, this is it, because he later posted the snap of them together beaming from ear to ear.
Fans couldn't stop watching Stormzy's Instagram stories as he filmed himself backstage in a series of hilarious posts, saying directly to the camera, "Man's trying to get a selfie with Taylor Swift. I'm looking for Taylor Swift". He even tagged the popstar in the stories and added the praying emoji.
A makeup artist then steps in to give him a little more powder, declaring he's too "shiny". And we bet Stormzy wanted to look his best for the "Anti-Hero" singer. Although, he is so excited that Swift has been located, he can't keep still as the makeup artist attempts to mattify his skin.
Lo and behold, the next story is the coveted selfie and we feel like a proud parent. Both look thrilled to be having the photo as Swift smiles with a glass of wine. Naturally, the selfie was Insta-grid-worthy so it soon appeared alongside the teary-eyed emoji and a heart emoji on Stormzy's social media. He then snapped a single selfie and added "so happy". Fans were quick to comment on the heart-warming photo, with one writing "So wholesome. So happy. We love a man who manifests his dreams 😂."

Swift won four awards at the MTV EMAs, which was presented by couple Rita Ora and Taika Waititi, and wore two stunning dresses for the occasion. For the red carpet, she chose a David Koma black dress with jewel-encrusted net skirt, before changing into a silver sequin mini dress for the ceremony.
While the night was a showcase of musical talent, we can't help but feel like this selfie is our favourite moment. Perhaps it's that there is something humbling about one of the biggest artists in the UK getting so excited to meet another celebrity? Or is it that his focus has inspired us that we can all meet our idols if we manifest it? All together now . . . "[insert name here] can we have a selfie please?"
