KJ Apa plays Archie Andrews on The CW's Riverdale [1], but he's not exactly like his character in real life. On screen he plays a total ladies' man [2], who loves guitar, has red hair, plays football, and is an all-American guy. Off screen, KJ is in fact a musician and an athlete (he played rugby in school), but he is actually from New Zealand, has naturally brown locks [3], and hasn't ever confirmed having a girlfriend. "I think I'm just waiting for the right time [4], right girl," KJ told Cosmopolitan in 2017 about his love life. "I'm pretty busy at the moment. I don't know how much I have to offer to someone right now."
Even though he is just as charming has his onscreen persona, KJ isn't currently tied down or in a serious romance . . . that we officially know of. KJ Apa first met Britt Robertson on the set of A Dog's Purpose in 2017, which was his first acting gig away from home and his first feature film. The two have recently reunited as costars [7] on the upcoming film I Still Believe, which is set to hit theatres in 2020. It seems as if the second time's the charm between these two, who were rumoured to be an item as of Summer 2019. According to People [8], KJ was spotted at Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con party in July sharing a kiss with Britt and holding hands. They were also reportedly hanging out with KJ's Riverdale [9] costars throughout the night. Neither actor has confirmed the romance, but according to Us Weekly, a source has confirmed that they are in fact dating [10]. Either way, their Comic-Con PDA has fans talking.
