Who Is Leah Harvey? Facts About the Foundation Actor

Leah Harvey Has a Breakout Role on Foundation, Here's What You Should Know About the Actor

If you love science fiction, you know who author Isaac Asimov is. And luckily, Apple TV+ has recently adapted his Foundation trilogy into a series. The dystopian drama is overflowing with star-power, including Guardians of the Galaxy's Lee Pace, Mad Men's Jared Harris, and fresh face Leah Harvey.

Leah, 26, plays the part of Salvor Hardin, a politician and master manipulator. Foundation is the latest project to put the spotlight on the London-based actor, but Leah already has an impressive resume spanning across the film, TV, and theatre in the UK. With Foundation's explosive season one premiere, you're sure to see much more of the talented actor, so we've rounded up a few fun facts about Leah so you can get to know them better.

Leah got their start in entertainment through theatre at a young age, and they went on to study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Throughout their time at school and since graduating, they've participated in productions including Emilia and The Tempest. Leah's also taken their theatre skills to the big screen, as part of a TV mini-series adaptation of Les Misérables as well as The Donmar Warehouse's All-Female Shakespeare Trilogy. TV and theatre? It's the best of both worlds!

Leah's first foray onto the big screen was in 2008, where they appeared in the TV movie Dustbin Baby. Since then, Harvey's on-screen work has included Fighting With My Family, produced by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson; the TV mini-series Les Misérables; and the film Tuesday starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, which is in post-production.

If their acting and musical skills didn't give it away, Leah's clearly got a creative edge. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they shared multiple cartoons that they'd created on social media, including art on social justice and political themes like Black Lives Matter, their past theatre and stage work on The Tempest, and a fun mix of day-to-day musings.

Leah's been trained in theatre skills from dancing to singing, and they can now officially add stunt work to the list. Leah shared that they did all their own stunts on Foundation, and without spoiling anything, you'll know how impressive that is when you watch! Although they enjoyed the experience, they expressed it was challenging. "We worked so hard on getting it all together," they told Beautiful Ballad. "The stunt team are so, so good. And I really enjoyed it. I love stunts, and I ate it up all the time. I was constantly ready to go. Really, really enjoyed myself doing them. They were hard though."

Apart from acting, Leah shows their creative flair through guitar playing and writing original songs. Although their Instagram shows them playing for fun at home, Harvey took their skills on stage in 2016 at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
