Sam Asghari has been dating Britney Spears [1] since 2016. For the most part, Britney and Sam prefer to keep their relationship out of the spotlight, however, Sam recently voiced his support for his other half [3] following the release of the Framing Britney Spears documentary.
Without divulging too many details, the 27-year-old gave People a statement, thanking Britney's fans for all of their love and support [4] and expressing his hopes for "a normal, amazing future together." In a follow-up statement on his Instagram Story, he called out Britney's dad, Jamie Spears, saying, "I have zero respect for someone trying to control our relationship and constantly throwing obstacles our way. In my opinion, Jamie is a total d*ck." Britney has yet to respond to the documentary herself.

He's a Personal Trainer
Sam has always had a passion for fitness [6]. "Pursuing a career as a trainer was a natural progression," Sam wrote on his website. "My family immigrated to the United States from Iran. They worked hard so I could have a life in America with more opportunities. I made a promise to myself to make the most of their commitment, and be the best version of myself while helping as many people as I can along the way."
In 2020, he launched his Asghari Fitness program in hopes of "changing lives" and "helping others grow." Sam lists Cristiano Ronaldo [7] and Dwayne Johnson as his fitness idols.
He Used to Be a Football Player
Sam played football in both high school and college, but he eventually gave it up [8] after he was cut from the football program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Sam then went on to study criminal justice at Pierce College in Los Angeles, before ultimately deciding to pursue a career in fitness.
He Had "Butterflies" When He First Met Britney
Sam and Britney first met on the set [9] of her 2016 "Slumber Party" video and, naturally, he was "excited" to meet "one of the biggest artists of all time." "I had butterflies," Sam told Men's Health. The 27-year-old "tried to be funny" to break the ice, and the two ended up exchanging numbers before the end of the shoot. They eventually got together for a sushi date [10], and on New Year's Day in 2017, they made their romance Instagram official.
