Adam Lambert Sings "Believe" at Kennedy Centre Honours Video

Adam Lambert's Cover of "Believe" Was So Stunning, It Brought Cher to Tears

Soon after Adam Lambert took the stage at the Kennedy Centre Honours to perform Cher's hit "Believe," the audience found themselves tearing up — including Cher herself.

The the 41st annual event, which also saw Kelly Clarkson performing a cover of mother-in-law Reba's "Fancy," drew a star-studded crowd featuring the likes of Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda, Kristin Chenoweth, Amanda Seyfried, Whoopi Goldberg, and Lady Antebellum, among others. It's safe to say that all of them got a few rounds of full-body chills after Lambert started belting out the iconic 1998 track, which he stripped down and gave an emotional spin. By the end of his performance, the camera panned up to catch the 72-year-old superstar wiping tears from her eyes (coincidentally, I was also wiping a few from my own).

Watch the jaw-dropping moment above, and then if you still can't get enough Cher, check out all the reasons why you should go see The Cher Show on Broadway.
