It was only right that Allison Janney opened her Oscars speech with a cutting joke: "I did it all by myself." The I, Tonya star took home the award for best supporting actress on Sunday, where she then launched into a passionate speech thanking the people who helped get her there, including her late brother Hal, who died by suicide in 2011 [4].

"Thanks to the cast and crew and bird [5] who elevated my work," she said. "Joanne Woodward, I want to thank you for your encouragement and generosity that gave me the confidence to think I could pursue a career in acting. To my mother and father, my family, my friends . . . I love you. And this is for Hal, you're always in my heart. Thank you very much."

Watch it above!
