A Bullied Teen Had the Entire Crowd on Their Feet With Her Soulful America's Got Talent Performance

20/06/2018 - 07:55 PM

The teenage singers are bringing the HEAT for this season of America's Got Talent [1], and we're seriously in awe of their musical talents. Just one week after 13-year-old Courtney Hadwin wowed the judges [2] with a jaw-dropping rendition of "Hard to Handle" by Otis Redding, another contestant, Amanda Mena, followed suit with a performance that left the entire audience (and the judges) completely floored.

Before her performance began, the 15-year-old told the judges how she was raised in the Dominican Republic and moved to the States at the age of 4 not knowing how to speak any English. "I got bullied a lot, so all that gave me tough skin," Amanda said before launching into a soulful cover of Aretha Franklin's "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman." Relive Amanda's powerhouse performance above to see which of the four judges awarded her the much-deserved golden buzzer. We're rooting for you, Amanda!
