16 Juicy Behind-the-Scenes Snaps From American Horror Story: Apocalypse

05/09/2018 - 05:47 PM

With American Horror Story: Apocalypse [1] drawing ever near, it seems FX is keen on bombarding us with the usual smattering of promotional materials. We're getting loads of creepy posters [2] and plenty of unsettling teasers [3], but frankly, a lot of the excitement is coming from another source: the cast. Over the course of the last handful of weeks, we've watched the world of Apocalypse come to life through various behind-the-scenes shots from Ryan Murphy, Sarah Paulson, and more. It's so great to see all our faves back on set and back in black. Check out every small glimpse we've caught so far.

The moment that started it all! This was the first look we got at the new season as production started up. Emma Roberts posted the video and uttered Madison's iconic line: "Surprise, bitch. Bet you thought you'd seen the last of me."

By mid-August, Ryan Murphy had reunited almost the entire cast of Coven, with a few major exceptions. There's no sign of ancient witches Marie Laveau or Madame Delphine LaLaurie, played by Angela Bassett and Kathy Bates. And, of course, we're missing our queen Jessica Lange.

It's Sarah Paulson's first time in the director's chair, and she's got two AHS faves on either side! We missed Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott so much. Can't wait to see the Harmons on screen once again.

We knew Evan Peters would be joining Apocalypse as two characters [4]: Kyle Spencer and a hairdresser who still has no name. But Murphy revealed he's also playing Murder House's Tate Langdon. Give us Violet!

Looks like Madison is making her way to the Murder House. Could it be because she's related to the Montgomery family [5] who built the house in the first place?!

Stevie Nicks is on set, and someone went to town with a crimper. We're not even mad about it. The real question is, what will Stevie Nicks do when the apocalypse hits?

This might be one of my favourite behind-the-scenes moments so far. Just a witch casually sauntering through a house (the Murder House? Buckner Mansion?!), with a gorgeous flowy black garment billowing behind her. Iconic.

Nothing to see here, except for three iconic witches serving looks, stunting pretty, casting a plague upon our houses, etc.

Not everything is sad and dreary with the Harmons. You know, once the cameras shut off.

Murphy shared a snap of Ben and Vivien Harmon as well. Connie Britton's hair is my favourite character, so I'm glad that's been confirmed for a return as well.

What would Queenie's return be without her iconic hat?

Poor Tate. Luckily, Ryan Murphy absolutely delivered on his word and dropped the trailer [6] on Sept. 4. Don't worry, we already pulled out a few key highlights [7].

We can't wait to see how Paulson's directorial debut goes down! Given how sensational her acting abilities are, we have no doubt that it'll be a masterpiece.

Ah, yes. Our dead Romeo and Juliet. We missed them dearly.

Joan Collins looked glammed the f*ck out in a new snap from Murphy, posted just a short week before the premiere.
