Andy King Talks About Scene From Fyre Festival Documentary

Andy King Asked Fyre Producers to Cut THAT Scene, but He's Ultimately Glad They Didn't

ANDY KING

Imagine being Andy King: for the rest of your life, people ask you if you're willing to take one for the team. As for the real Andy King from Netflix's Fyre documentary, he's ultimately OK with that, but he did ask producers to cut the scene that would change the way we talk about Evian water forever. Obviously they did not oblige, but our guy is happy to have "risen to the top like the phoenix" since becoming known as the person willing to suck d*ck to save a sh*t show of a music festival that was spiraling out of control.

In a new video interview with TMZ, King reveals how he really feels about that scene and what happened after he asked to cut it. "I went to [the producers] and I said listen, I just talked to my lawyers and some of my creative team and they said, 'Andy you gotta pull that thing. That cannot go in this documentary.' When I sat with the director, he said, 'Andy you don't understand. Without that scene there isn't a documentary." And thus, the Andy King memes were born.

Now, King is happily riding the high that comes with sudden internet fame. He said, "I probably wouldn't be where I am today if it had been taken out. I mean how I have become this social media hero over a situation like that . . . I'm in total shock, but I'm riding with it. It's a lot of fun." He said he's gotten job offers including movie cameos and TV appearances. It's worth repeating that as funny as this bizarre situation was, it was also definitely sexual harassment and an extremely inappropriate ask, so at least King is getting more jobs and the manipulative Billy McFarland is in prison.
