It's finally here! After keeping us waiting for what felt like ages, Ariana Grande [1] dropped the music video for her new single [2], "7 Rings," on Thursday night, and it's now our official anthem for 2019. The song is all about female empowerment and was born out of a shopping trip Grande took with her friends following her split from ex-fiancé [3] Pete Davidson back in October 2018.
"'Twas a pretty rough day in NYC. My friends took me to Tiffany's," Grande tweeted [4] this past December. "We had too much Champagne. I bought us all rings. It was very insane and funny." Apparently one of Grande's pals suggested she turned their trip into a song, and well, here we are. The video remains true to Grande's aesthetic: lots of pink and a whole lot of sexiness [5]. Singer Victoria Monét even makes another appearance [6] (she also appeared in Grande's "Thank U, Next" video)! So excuse us, we'll just be over here watching the video on loop until Grande drops her next song.
