6 Bachelor Seasons So Memorable That Even Chris Harrison Probably Isn't Over Them

27/11/2018 - 11:40 PM

Watching The Bachelor [1] can typically be described as a journey filled with tears and extravagant dates, along with a couple confrontations and just a pinch of happily ever after. Despite the monotony, season after season, we come back for more. The hit ABC show has had over 20 seasons [2] to date, and no two are exactly alike. However, there are a handful that stand out from the crowd — whether they were good or bad. We took a trip down memory lane and rounded up the very best seasons. While this may seem like choosing the best is only a job Chris Harrison [3] could tackle, we've been diehard fans since the beginning. Don't worry, Chris; we've got this one.

Seasons 11 and 15: Brad Womack

Brad Womack was the Bachelor [4] on both seasons 11 and 15. It was the former, however, that made him go down in Bachelor history. The bar owner had a final rose to give out to either DeAnna Pappas or Jenni Croft — but he decided not to give it to either one. It wasn't until the very end that viewers learned that Brad didn't see a forever with either woman and opted to leave solo [5]. It was a huge shock, and some people weren't shy about voicing their disapproval.

This season makes our list for several reasons. Whether you think Brad is terrible or brave for not choosing either woman, it stands as the only season where the leading man kept his final rose. He didn't even see himself dating one of the women after the show.

Brad went on to star in season 15 of The Bachelor [6] (which also made history since he's the only repeat Bachelor to date). At the end of season 15, Brad proposed to single mother Emily Maynard. However, their relationship only lasted three months after the finale aired.

These days, Brad is lying low and isn't on social media. So maybe he's dating someone? Maybe he's not? But we do know he's continuing to establish bars [7] around Austin, TX.

Season 13: Jason Mesnick

We don't typically see someone go back to an old contestant after sending them home, but that's what happened in Jason Mesnick's case. The single father was viewed as a sweet guy who was looking for a serious partner, and it looked like he was on his way to getting that with Melissa Rycroft and Molly Malaney as his final two. Jason proposed to Melissa. However, after the finale aired in 2009, Jason told Chris Harrison that he was still in love with Molly [8] and wanted to make it work with her. Needless to say, Melissa was heartbroken, and finding out on television [9] made it even worse.

This is still one of our favourite Bachelor seasons because Jason asked Molly for a second chance and she gave it him. The couple got married in 2010 and are raising his son, Ty, and their daughter, Riley [10], together. True love really does prevail.

Season 14: Jake Pavelka

It was the season with possibly the biggest blowup of all time. We're bringing you back to season 14 of The Bachelor [11] when Jake Pavelka proposed to Vienna Girardi. The two looked like a match made in rose heaven, but it quickly took a turn for the worst [12] just a month after they got engaged. Jake was convinced Vienna had run to the media to reveal personal things about their relationship. Vienna said Jake was emotionally abusive.

The couple had a sit-down with Chris Harrison to put an end to it once and for all. The whole conversation was very heated, but it crashed and burned when Vienna interrupted Jake while he was speaking one too many times. He shouted, "Please stop interrupting me!" Vienna broke out in tears, and there was no coming back from it. While this was far from a happy ending, it sure was entertaining and unforgettable.

Jake appeared on Dancing With the Stars [13] in 2010 and was voted off during the fourth round elimination. In 2013, he dated Kristin Chenoweth [14], but they have since gone their separate ways. Earlier this year, he was dating Tiffany [15], an attorney from Arkansas, but there's no word if the two are still together. So maybe someone still has a shot at love with the pilot from Dallas [16]. Jake recently appeared on The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast [17], where he spilled some secrets [18] about his season. Nowadays, Jake hangs out with other Bachelor alumni [19].

Season 17: Sean Lowe

He was the Bachelor [20] who wasn't afraid to show his goofy side . . . and pull a prank [21]. Sean Lowe was a born-again virgin, which was enough to make for an interesting season. After all, it might be one of the only seasons where we're sure there was really just talking in the fantasy suite [22]. The best part of Sean's journey for love was seeing how real his relationship is with Catherine Giudici.

This is the only Bachelor season that ended with a proposal and the couple are still together. They said "I do" on live television in January 2014 and have two sons [23] together, Samuel and Isaiah.

You can find Sean making parenthood funny on Instagram [24] and cracking hilarious dad jokes on Twitter [25].

Season 20: Ben Higgins

This might be the most "normal" season of The Bachelor [26] we'll ever see. Ben Higgins is the epitome of a good guy, and Bachelor Nation quickly fell for the software salesman from Denver [27]. There were plenty of tears, from both Ben and the contestants, throughout the season, showing just how serious the process was to him. One standout part of the season was when Kevin Hart and Ice Cube crashed Ben's steamy date [28] in a hot tub. And Ben is just an overall likable guy, which can't be said about every season we've ever watched . . .

Lauren Bushnell and JoJo Fletcher were the final two, and Ben got down on one knee to Lauren. Ta-da! They were on their way to forever. This is also the season where we met some of the most well-known contestants, like Becca Tilley, Amanda Stanton, and the twins, Emily and Haley Ferguson.

The two even had a spinoff show, Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After [29], and cohosted Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding [30], but their relationship couldn't be saved. They ultimately broke up [31] in 2017, and the pressure from being in the public eye played a role in that.

Ben made a brief appearance The Bachelor Winter Games [32] earlier this year but realised he wasn't ready to date. However, he has since revealed that he's started dating again [33]. We're not the only ones [34] hoping Ben comes back for round two to find love, and if he does, we'll be ready to watch (with wine in hand, of course).
