Birds of Prey Cast

Behold, the Fantabulous Cast of Margot Robbie's Birds of Prey

Margot Robbie's R-rated superhero team-up film is finally coming together, and we can't get enough of the cast. Birds of Prey, which will see Robbie's Suicide Squad character Harley Quinn leading a team of female antiheroes on a dangerous mission — Robbie has already called it a "girl gang" film in the DC universe — most recently cast Academy Award nominee Rosie Perez in a key role, and she's far from the only exciting name on the roster. Find out who she's playing, as well as who will portray iconic characters like Black Canary and Huntress, ahead.

Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya/Question

The Wrap confirmed that Perez has been cast as Renee Montoya, a detective working for the Gotham City Police Department who comes into frequent contact with Batman. Montoya is openly gay, has genius-level intelligence, and later assumes the identity of the Question.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress

The Fargo and 10 Cloverfield Lane star is on board as Huntress, a character who has taken on many different forms in the DC Universe. She's been everything from the daughter of Batman and Catwoman, to a former mafia princess, who like Batman, witnesses her family killed at a young age. The latter storyline is likely the one we'll see in the upcoming film.

Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary

Underground's Jurnee Smollett-Bell beat out Gugu Mbatha-Raw for the role of Black Canary, aka Dinah Lance, who is a street-savvy fighter armed with a shrieking cry.

Ewan McGregor as Black Mask

The Fargo star has been tapped to play villain Black Mask, EW reports. The character, also known as Roman Sionis in the comics, is the heir to a wealthy fortune who decides to murder his parents and take over their business. He ends up suffering a number of setbacks, personal and professional, that lead him further down a path of villainy and result in his crafting a mask out of pieces of his father's grave (YIKES). Black Mask goes on to lead a gang called the False Face Society of Gotham, but there's no word on whether or not they'll make an appearance in the film.
