Blinded By the Light Movie Trailer

Every Bruce Springsteen Fan Needs to Watch the Joyous Trailer For Blinded by the Light

In this day and age, who do you picture as the stereotypical Bruce Springsteen fan? Maybe someone a bit older? Someone who lives in New Jersey? Someone working class? Someone white? In Bend It Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha's new film, Blinded by the Light, it becomes immediately clear that The Boss's music is not only universal now, but has been for quite some time.

The inspirational drama set to Springsteen's timeless lyrics and music follows Javed (Viveik Kalra), a British teenager of Pakistani descent struggling to figure out who he really is while growing up in Britain in the late 1980s. While his inflexible parents push him to find a steady job, aspiring poet Javed happens upon Springteen's records and finds an unexpected parallel to his own working-class life.

Blinded by the Light is actually inspired by the true story in Sarfraz Manzoor's memoir, Greetings from Bury Park: Race, Religion and Rock N' Roll. It also stars Game of Thrones actor Dean-Charles Chapman and Avengers: Endgame's Hayley Atwell, so check out the trailer above before it opens in theatres on Aug. 14.
