Your Guide to All of Deadpool 2's Shocking Cameos

18/05/2018 - 11:25 PM

Warning: BIG spoilers for Deadpool 2 ahead!

Deadpool 2 [1] has more jokes, pop culture references, and action sequences than you can shake a stick at, but the antihero flick's crowning achievement is its abundance of high-quality cameos [2]. Deadpool's newly formed X-Force features a bunch of familiar faces, almost all of whom die in increasingly gruesome ways in a parachute landing that goes wildly off the rails. There are also two blink-and-you'll-miss-them moments featuring Hollywood A-listers that we definitely weren't expecting. So, if you want a guide for when and where to spot them all, keep reading.

Rob Delaney

Let's start off with the most obvious one, shall we? Rob Delaney's role as a bumbling nonsuperhero named Peter who joins X-Force is less of a cameo than it is a bit part. Due to his normal human genes he doesn't last long on Deadpool's mission to take down Cable — he's killed by a stream of acidic vomit spewing from the mouth of fellow X-Force member Zeitgeist.

Bill Skarsgard

Speaking of acidic vomit, Zeitgeist is played by It's Bill Skarsgard (yep, that's Pennywise). He wears a yellow-green mask on the bottom half of his face during his short time on screen, but unfortunately that doesn't stop him from 1.) accidentally killing Peter as he 2.) gets sucked into a wood chipper. RIP.

Terry Crews

The Brooklyn Nine-Nine star plays Bedlam, an X-Force recruit who can control the electro-chemical responses in other peoples' brains (translation: he can make people feel pain and anxiety or put them to sleep). Sadly, that ability can't save him from parachuting directly into a bus windshield.

Hugh Jackman

OK, OK — is it technically still a cameo if it's merely footage from a different movie? Hugh Jackman [4]'s Wolverine appears in one of the movie's postcredit scenes [5], which sees Deadpool using Cable's time-traveling device to go back and kill the version of Wade Wilson we see in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (the Merc With No Mouth, if you recall).

Evan Peters

There are a few scenes that see Deadpool recovering in the X-Men's mansion after trying to blow himself up, and he takes the opportunity to roam around the home . . . in Professor X's wheelchair, no less. As he cracks yet another joke about how Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead are the only X-Men who are ever around, we see a room FULL of iconic characters in the background for a split second. Evan Peters, of American Horror Story [6] fame, is among them as Quicksilver.

James McAvoy

Quicksilver isn't the only one! James McAvoy [7], aka Professor X, can be seen sitting in a different wheelchair just inside the door.

Tye Sheridan

Ready Player One's Tye Sheridan is there as well in his full Cyclops regalia.

Nicholas Hoult

Nicholas Hoult's Beast is probably the easiest to spot in this scene, since he's the one who closes the door before Deadpool can turn around and see them (and also because he's giant, blue, and furry, let's be real).

Brad Pitt

Yes, Brad freakin' Pitt is in Deadpool 2 [8]! The Hollywood icon plays Vanisher — yet another X-Force recruit who is unceremoniously offed shortly after they set out. What makes his cameo so shocking is that we never get a good look at him, since his character is invisible; all we see is a floating parachute harness. After he parachutes out of the plane, strong winds carry him directly into some live power lines, and as he's fried to death we get a quick glimpse of Pitt's face.

Matt Damon

Matt Damon [9]'s cameo might be the best one yet and also the hardest to spot. The Downsizing star is heavily made-up in his role as "Redneck #2," [10] which sees him wearing facial prosthetics and a wig. In the scene, he and a buddy are sitting in the back of a pick-up truck discussing the best, um, way to wipe before Cable arrives and knocks them both out.

Alan Tudyk

Sitting alongside Damon in the truck is "Redneck #1," aka I, Robot and Moana actor Alan Tudyk.

Stan Lee

Perhaps the most obscure cameo on this list is Stan Lee's. Since he didn't have time to film a proper cameo for the sequel, his likeness pops up in a few other places. Apparently when Deadpool is roaming around X-Mansion there's a bust of the comic legend, and later on when Domino drives a convoy through the city, she passes a colorful mural featuring Lee's face.
