Christina Aguilera is about to release her eighth studio album, titled Liberation, following six years of radio silence. The 37-year-old singer recently released a music video for her new single, "Accelerate." Now, Aguilera has released a vulnerable and intimate trailer for her impending album.
In the video, Aguilera waxes poetic as she shares childhood pictures, reads old journal entries, and plays at home with her daughter. On the inspiration for her album, Aguilera said, "To me the purest of reasons, is to get back to that little girl who just wants to be inspired again by truth and by that sense of passion for music." Adding, "I've stepped so far away from that little girl and if that means go away for a little while and figuring out who you are again and what you have to say, then that's what you need to do."
Liberation will be released June 15. It will consist of 15 songs, one featuring Demi Lovato. On this seemingly new chapter of her musical career, Aguilera simply said, "F*ck it, this is who I am."
