After 15 seasons, the flagship Criminal Minds [1] show is finally gearing up for its final bow. The long-running crime procedural is set to debut its 15th and final season [2] this Fall, packed with plenty of your favourite returning characters. Over the years, cast members have come and gone [3] — only a couple of the original cast members from season one still remain — and while there's no word yet on any cameos from old favourites, we have a pretty good idea of who the main cast will be for the final season [4]. Joe Mantegna as David Rossi

Mantegna returns as Rossi, the role he's played since 2007's third season. His character is set to face down one of his greatest nemeses yet, while trying to keep holding the team together.

Matthew Gray Gubler as Spencer Reid

As one of the only cast members who has been with the show from the very beginning, Gubler will portray genius Dr. Reid through the final season as well.

Paget Brewster as Emily Prentiss

Prentiss first arrives in season two as a hostile presence in the BAU team, but quickly shifts loyalties to her new teammates. She's presumed dead in season six, but survives and returns to work again, on and off, with her longtime colleagues.

A.J. Cook as JJ Jareau

Although she took some time off a few seasons back, Cook is one of the last remaining original cast members. JJ has had a rough time of it, surviving kidnapping, torture, and the resultant PTSD, but has slowly recovered with the help of her friends, husband, and teammates.

Daniel Henney as Matt Simmons

One of the most recent additions to the cast (joining full-time in season 13 after some prior guest appearances), Henney plays a former special ops agent who joins the team while juggling his time with his family and four young children.

Kirsten Vangsness as Penelope Garcia

Vangsness's Penelope started out as a recurring character in season one before being promoted to series regular the following year, and she's been there ever since. The quirky, geeky hacker has been the show's comic relief (and its moral compass) for a long time.

Aisha Tyler as Tara Lewis

Tyler joined the cast fairly recently, starting with a recurring gig in season 11 before joining full-time in season 12. Her arc has been a pretty emotional one, as she's had to apply her highly-specialised knowledge of forensic psychology to analyse the motivations and consciences of some truly brutal criminals.

Adam Rodriguez as Luke Alvez

Rodriguez has been with the show since season 12, when he began playing FBI Agent Alvez. Alvez comes into the BAU fold when he works with the team on a serial killer who attacked his old partner, eventually joining the team full time.
