Dark: The Eerie Trailer For Season 2 Sent Chills ALLLLL the Way Down My Spine

Netflix's Dark is returning for a second season on June 21, and the trailer for the new episodes confirms they'll be just as eerie and terrifying as the first instalment.

The intriguing German sci-fi series arrived on Netflix in 2017, and soon earned (slightly unfair) comparisons to Stranger Things, but it soon proved to be far more complex — and pretty freakin' confusing — than the beloved '80s-tinged hit. Dark weaves an elaborate time-travelling mystery throughout its 10-episode first season, introducing a large group of characters and a series of flashbacks to two other time periods: 1953 and 1986. That means that while you're trying to solve the mystery of where when Mikkel Nielsen disappeared to, the pool of characters is only widening and getting more confusing.

In season two, it looks like we'll get an answer. The trailer shows Mikkel wandering the wreckage of his town in a protective yellow suit, presumably to protect him from the radiation that likely came from a nuclear explosion at the power plant. There are charred bodies hanging from trees(yikes), it looks like the dangerous time machine is still sending young boys to their deaths, and a voice warns that "the apocalypse needs to happen."
