Roseanne returned to ABC after two decades off the air, and the show has made sure to pay tribute to late actor Glenn Quinn in a few ways. Quinn, who played Mark Healy in the original series, passed away from an accidental heroin overdose in 2002, and while talking about Roseanne during a panel on The Talk, actress Sara Gilbert — who reprises her role as Darlene Conner — explained the sweet way that she and former costar Johnny Galecki decided to pay homage to Quinn in their own way.
Though Darlene and David Healy (Galecki) are separated in the reboot, they share two kids, teenage daughter Harris (played by Emma Kenney) and her younger brother, Mark (Ames McNamara), who is named after his late uncle. On Tuesday, Sara Gilbert revealed that in June 2017, she and Galecki decided via text what their "baby boy" would be named in anticipation for the show coming back.
"I thought, 'Oh, I've got to reach out to Johnny Galecki because this is our kid together,'" Gilbert said. "So I texted him, 'What do you think we named our baby boy?' and then I said, 'Oh, maybe Mark,' because Mark was played by Glenn Quinn, he was his brother on his show who passed away." Sara also shared an Instagram snap of their cute text exchange.
Galecki will be returning for one episode of Roseanne, set to air this Tuesday night on ABC.
