Demi Lovato is diving back into the acting world. After teasing a mysterious new project on Monday, the 27-year-old singer revealed on Instagram on Tuesday that she'll be appearing on season 11 of Will & Grace. According to Us Weekly, the former Disney Channel star will play the role of a "guarded" woman named Jenny "who comes into the life of Will (Eric McCormack) in an unexpected way." Lovato will star in three episodes when the beloved sitcom returns in 2020 for its final season.
"DEMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!! You are so sweet. I am so happy you came to play with us! You are now officially part of the family," Debra Messing, who famously plays Grace, commented on Demi's photo from set. McCormack also shared a sweet snap of him and his new costar, writing, "First shot with ms @ddlovato #WillandGrace."
Lovato first got her start in acting as Angela on Barney & Friends back in 2002, but it was her role as Mitchie Torres in Disney's Camp Rock that really put her on the map. Will & Grace marks Lovato's first onscreen role since she guest-starred on Netflix's From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series in 2015.
Will & Grace first premiered in September 1998 and ran for eight seasons until 2006. In 2017, the show was rebooted for season nine, then again for two more seasons. But because all good things must come to an end, NBC announced in July that the show will be done for good after its 11th season.
"We think of the Will & Grace reboot episodes the way Karen Walker thinks of martinis — 51 is not enough, 53 is too many," executive producers Max Mutchnick, David Kohan, and James Burrows said in a press release. "That is why, after consulting with the cast, we all have decided this will be the final season of Will & Grace." Ahead, get a first look at Lovato as Jenny!
