Warning: spoilers for the This Is Us season two finale ahead.

If you were holding your breath about Kate and Toby's nuptials [1] on This Is Us [2], you can let out a sigh of relief. During the season two finale, the couple became Mr. and Mrs. Damon (yes, that's really Toby's last name [3]) when they tied the knot in front of their closest friends and family. Of course, that doesn't mean there weren't a few hiccups along the way.

For starters, Kate nearly has a melt down when she realises Toby didn't pack her father's shirt for her to wear under her wedding dress [4]. Not to mention Toby's parents (played by Dan Lauria and Wendie Malick [5]) try to talk him out of marrying Kate just mere hours before the actual wedding. Thankfully, Toby isn't having any of it, and tells them they can either stay and support him or get on the next flight home. Way to go, Toby!

Of course, one of the most emotional moments is when Kate has a heart-to-heart with her mom on the phone. She explains how the past few days, she's been having a recurring dream of a wedding. Only, it's not her wedding, it's Rebecca and Jack renewing their vows. When Rebecca asks Kate what Toby was doing in the dream, she admits, he wasn't actually in it.

It seems like Kate is going to call of the wedding right then and there, but then something really beautiful happens. She heads to the tree where she used to hang out with her father when she was younger, and she pulls out his urn from her purse. As she sits there talking to her father's ashes, she explains that she needs to let go of him in order to let Toby in. She then proceeds to get rid of the rest of his ashes before returning to her car, where Kevin and Randall are waiting for her.

The rest of the night plays out like a real-life romance movie. Kate and Toby say their vows, Kevin and Randall make touching toasts, and everyone dances the night away. Then, we're hit with another gut-wrenching twist. In a short flash-forward, we see Kate caring for an incredibly sick Toby. Is Toby going to die [6]? Will Kate ever get her happy ending? We need answers [7], This Is Us!
