Dove Cameron's Enchanting Kacey Musgraves Cover Has Us Excited About Her New Music

Dove Cameron showed off her ethereal voice as she covered Kacey Musgraves' "Slow Burn" from Golden Hour. On Wednesday, the former Disney Channel star put her own spin on the enchanting melody by slowing things down even more. From the gorgeous floral visuals to the wind blowing in Cameron's hair, her performance completely lifted my spirits and brightened my mood.

The 23-year-old recently wrapped the Descendants franchise, but she has plenty of new music on the horizon. In June, Cameron addressed why it's taken her so long to release her debut album in a lengthy tweet. "I was working on an independent album when I was younger (15), that I planned on releasing on my own, and then I signed with Disney," she explained. "We (me and my manager at the time) put off releasing my own music because I was now under contract to be with their label, meaning I would release THEIR [Disney's] music, not mine, after they cast me on their show."

After recording music for her hit show Liv and Maddie, Cameron explained that she went on to release music with her boyfriend at the time Ryan McCartan. "When we broke up, I then recorded some things independently again, and planned on releasing them," she added. "Then, I signed with Sony/Disruptor about a year ago, and have been working on music (singles and videos) ever since, now going to be released in a few months." If her stunning cover is any indication, we are in store for some magical tunes.
