Evangeline Lilly [1]'s latest role as The Wasp (Hope van Dyne) in Ant-Man and The Wasp [2] has us musing about where we've seen her onscreen. Over the past 15 years, she's appeared across all genres, from her breakout role in the iconic sci-fi series Lost [3] to starring opposite Jeremy Renner in the Oscar winning The Hurt Locker. Still, we could have swear we'd seen her in more titles! Let's chalk it up to her screen presence being especially memorable, eh?

Click through to see every big role Lilly has landed leading up to Ant-Man and The Wasp.

Lost, 2004-2010

To this day, Lost [4] has a cult following thanks to characters like Kate Austen, played by Lilly. The series, in case you somehow missed it (seriously, how?), follows the survivors of a plane crash who are forced to work together in order to survive on a tropical island.

Afterwards, 2008

The little-seen drama Afterwards tells the story of Nathan (Romain Duris) and his recently divorced wife, Claire (Lilly). Nathan is approached by a doctor who calls himself a "Messenger" (John Malkovich), who can sense when people are going to die.

The Hurt Locker, 2008

You may have forgotten that Lilly costarred alongside her future fellow Marvel hero Jeremy Renner [5] in The Hurt Locker. As Connie James, she struggles to understand why her Sergeant husband (Renner) keeps putting himself in harm's way — even when his duty is done. The film won six Oscars, including best motion picture of the year.

Real Steel, 2011

Apart from some scenes in Lost, Lilly's first foray into the world of onscreen action-adventure came with her role in Real Steel. She starred opposite Hugh Jackman [6] in the film, in which robot boxing is a top sport.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, 2013

Lilly famously played the elf Tauriel in both The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug [7] and its sequel, The Battle of the Five Armies.

Ant-Man, 2015

In 2015, Lilly leaped onto the big screen again for Marvel's Ant-Man. Starring as Hope van Dyne, Lilly gives Paul Rudd [8] (aka Ant-Man) a run for his money in the wit department. More on her later.

Little Evil, 2017

When Samantha (Lilly) and Gary (Adam Scott) get married, everything is great. Samantha is the women of his dreams, and he's so excited to become a dad to her young son. But Gary soon finds out that Samantha's son may be the Antichrist . . . and Samantha has no idea.

Ant-Man and The Wasp, 2018

Whereas Hope van Dyne doesn't get to have too much fun in the first Ant-Man, she transitions to full-on hero in the new sequel. As The Wasp, she partners up with Ant-Man to fight crime — and unlike her compatriot, she can fly.
