All the Fast and Furious Photos You Need to Hold You Over Until Hobbs and Shaw

19/06/2019 - 08:56 PM

Can you believe it's already been 18 years since The Fast and the Furious was first released?! Since then, the franchise has made its mark with a total of eight films — and two more on the way (Hobbs and Shaw [1] and Fast & Furious 9 [2]) — and over $5 billion at the box office! From Los Angeles and Miami to Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the star-studded cast — including Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster [3], Ludacris, and the late Paul Walker [4] — have practically raced all over the world, so there's no telling where Fast & Furious 9 will take place. The moon, maybe? In honour of the franchise's 18th anniversary and the upcoming Aug. 2 release of Hobbs and Shaw, we're taking a walk down memory lane and looking back at the best pictures from the films.

The Fast and the Furious (2001)

Ah, the one that started it all. In this one, we meet LAPD officer Brian O'Conner (Walker) for the first time as he goes undercover to investigate an illegal street-racing gang, which includes Dominic Toretto (Diesel) and Letty (Rodriguez).

2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)

The tables turn for Brian in the sequel, as he's now the one running from the law after letting Dom get away. In exchange for his freedom, Brian offers to take down Miami drug lord Carter Verone (Cole Hauser) and ends up falling in love with Carter's wife, Monica Fuentes (Eva Mendes [6]).

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)

Now this is the one we don't speak of. This spinoff didn't even include any of the original cast members.

Fast & Furious (2009)

Dom and his crew reunite in the fourth instalment to take down Mexican drug lord Arturo Braga (John Ortiz).

Fast Five (2011)

Dwayne Johnson makes his debut as Diplomatic Security Service agent Luke Hobbs in this one, and I'm still not over that intense fight between him and Diesel.

Fast & Furious 6 (2013)

In this one, Dom and his gang team up with Hobbs to take down British terrorist Owen Shaw (Jason Statham) in London. Yep, things get pretty crazy.

Furious 7 (2015)

Furious 7 was an emotional one, as it was Walker's last film following his death [7] in 2013. However, his brothers, Caleb and Cody, stepped in and finished his scenes for him.

The Fate of the Furious (2017)

OK, I really thought we lost Dom to Cipher [8] (Charlize Theron [9]) for good in this one. Luckily, the rest of the gang stepped in and saved him before it was too late.
