Gwyneth Paltrow Forgets Being in Spider-Man Homecoming Video

Gwyneth Paltrow Is So Booked, She Really Forgot She Was in Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming

Gwyneth Paltrow is a busy woman. So busy, she doesn't always remember every project she's worked on, as we've come to find out thanks to Netflix's The Chef Show. In one episode — which dropped on June 7 — the 46-year-old actress is chatting with hosts Jon Favreau and Roy Choi about how they came up with the idea for the cooking show.

When Jon — who stars as Happy Hogan in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — mentions that he thought of the show's premise while they were filming 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming, Gwyneth looks a little confused. "We weren't in Spider-Man," she says. After Jon insists that they were indeed in the huge blockbuster hit together, Gwyneth maintains that she wasn't, adding, "No, I was in Avengers." It takes a few more tries before Jon is able to jog Gwyneth's memory, and she eventually realises that she was in the film. "That was Spider-Man? Oh, my God!" she laughs (while zesting the heck out of an orange).

We can't totally blame her for being confused, though. She's starred in the MCU as Pepper Potts since 2008, making appearances in five other Marvel movies: all three Iron Man films, The Avengers, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. It's probably hard to keep track of all the superhero flicks, especially because Marvel doesn't always tell the actors what they're filming for. Not to mention, her cameo in Spider-Man: Homecoming was very brief. Still, it's pretty hilarious to think that Gwyneth is so used to the Hollywood life that she straight up forgot she was in a major motion picture.

Ahead, watch her very real appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming, starting at the three-minute mark!
