Hamilton "One Last Time (44 Remix)"

Of Course Lin-Manuel Miranda Got Barack Obama on His Final "Hamildrop" — He's Actually Magic

Lin-Manuel Miranda has so many talented friends, and seemingly every single one has blessed Hamilton fans by participating in his "Hamildrops" series. On Dec. 20, Miranda began reposting all the previously released "Hamildrops" on Twitter, before surprising everyone with the final drop — the remix to "One Last Time." For the final release, Miranda went straight to the top and tapped former President Barack Obama to recite George Washington's address on the aptly named "44 Remix," in honour of the 44th president. The song also features Hamilton star Christopher Jackson and gospel legend BeBe Winans.

This is a full circle moment for Miranda and Obama, who have a long history together. Miranda performed his song "Alexander Hamilton" for the Obamas at the White House in 2009, which inspired Miranda to write Hamilton. The entire cast visited the White House in 2016 to perform a selection of songs and then the following year, Miranda returned to perform "One Last Time" as a farewell to Obama. The two working together once again is a lovely way to end the "Hamildrop" series, and the song itself is a wonderfully soulful remix that you won't be able to stop playing.
