Harrison Ford's Quotes About Who Should Play Indiana Jones

Harrison Ford Knows Who Should Play Indiana Jones After He's Done With the Role: "Nobody"

Harrison Ford isn't going to beat around the bush when it comes to discussing the future of Indiana Jones movies. According to the actor, he can't picture anyone else stepping into the role and sporting the classic hat with the whip. During an interview with NBC's Today, the 76-year-old actor was asked who he'd like to see as the adventurer. "Nobody is gonna be Indiana Jones," he said, followed by a laugh. "Don't you get it? I'm Indiana Jones. When I'm gone, he's gone. It's easy."

Prior speculation suggested Chris Pratt might be Ford's successor, but Ford kindly shut that down during the interview (though, he did accidentally call out the wrong Hollywood Chris). "This is a hell of a way to tell Chris Pine this," he continued on Today. "I'm sorry, man."

Ford has brought the character to life on the big screen four times, beginning with 1981's Raiders of the Lost Ark and most recently in 2008's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. He's set to take on his explorer persona a fifth time in 2021 when the provisionally titled Indiana Jones 5 hits theatres July 9, 2021.
