X-Men: Dark Phoenix has swept into theatres, which means you can finally sink your teeth into a whole new iteration of Jean Grey's fiery story.

The telepathic and telekinetic mutant, played by Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner, struggles to get ahold of her powers in the latest X-Men instalment following a dangerous mission to space that results in Jean absorbing a volatile blast of energy. So, how long do you need to pencil into your schedule to watch Jean do her thing? Luckily, it's far less than fellow Marvel property Avengers: Endgame.

The film runs a quick one hour and 53 minutes, which is relatively lean as far as superhero films are concerned. The aforementioned Endgame clocked in at a whopping three hours and two minutes, and the last X-Men film, 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse, was two hours and 27 minutes. The runtime is even shorter when you take into account that as soon as the Dark Phoenix credits begin to roll, you can head out, since the movie doesn't have a postcredits or midcredits scene to stick around for.

Despite its shorter-than-usual runtime, rest assured that X-Men: Dark Phoenix does manage to wrap up pretty much all of the major stories by the time the dust has settled from its final battle.
