MoviePass Just Lowered Its Prices EVEN More — Now You Can See Endless Films For $7 a Month

Somewhere between the beginning of time and 2018, going to the movies got expensive as hell. MoviePass is aiming to disrupt the movie theatre industry with its reduced-price subscription service, and now the company is running a promotion that lowers the price to just $6.95 per month. This latest offer is for a "limited time" and is a few dollars cheaper than MoviePass's regular price of $9.95 per month. It's hands down one of the best deals for getting your buzz-worthy-movie fix, and MoviePass is hoping this will get more people on board with the idea.

Aside from the $6.95 monthly charge, there's also a one-time processing fee of $6.55, and I'm no mathematician, but according to my calculations . . . yep, that's still a lot less than what you'd typically spend on just a couple of movies. A MoviePass subscription, which comes in the form of a card mailed to you, means you can see one movie per day (at participating theatres, of which there are many), and you get to skip the ticket fee altogether.

MoviePass cofounder Mitch Lowe, who's also a former Netflix and Redbox executive, said MoviePass hopes to reach 5 million subscribers by the end of 2018. "Over 50 percent of our subscribers are millennials, the people who are abandoning theatre the most," he said at a media presentation. While this startup just might end up being too good to be true, we'll take any chance to see cheaper movies while it lasts.
