The Netflix teen drama [1] On My Block [2] centres on a quartet of teenage friends [3] in an inner-city Los Angeles neighbourhood, navigating typical teen problems like love and school alongside more dangerous concerns [4]. While there are some supporting characters who are older [5], for the most part, the series focuses on its young teen ensemble, who are just in high school.

It's become something of a popular practice for TV shows to cast much older actors to play teenage characters [6], resulting in characters who don't exactly look the way we remember looking as teens.
