When envisioning the music video for "Kevin's Heart" off his new album KOD, J. Cole decided to cast the song's titular muse — even if the song is about said muse's cheating scandal. Released on April 24, the video follows comedian Kevin Hart as he grapples with his highly publicized infidelity, both dodging judgmental bystanders and tempting flirts.

In an emotional Instagram video in 2017, Hart admitted he'd made a mistake and apologised. "At the end of the day man, I just simply have got to do better," Hart said. It appears he has since repaired his relationship with his wife, Eniko Parrish, and the couple also welcomed their first child late last year. The very end of the music video mirrors Hart's tearful sentiment as clouds form the words "choose wisely."
