American Idol: Katy Perry Let the Tears Flow During This Romantic Surprise Proposal

American Idol contestant Johanna Jones already has a standout voice, but her surprise engagement during Hollywood week definitely makes her an unforgettable competitor. During Monday's episode, the 23-year-old Las Vegas resident told audiences she wished her boyfriend Matt could be in Southern California to watch her performance, but he was held up with finals. Little did Jones know, Matt was standing backstage while she sang Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" for judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan.

After she finished to a standing ovation, Matt shocked Johanna and emerged from backstage with a ring box in his hand. Perry quickly dropped to the floor in full-on sobs, probably shedding more tears than the lovebirds themselves! The singer clarified on Twitter that this sweet moment was recorded before her own engagement to actor Orlando Bloom.
