Keira Knightley Talking About Love Actually With Wired Video
Keira Knightley Has No Idea How Love Actually Ends, and It’s (Actually) Hilarious
Before Keira Knightley dedicated herself to starring exclusively — and excellently — in period films, the British actress appeared in a little movie called Love Actually. The 2003 rom-com follows a group of interconnected people through London over the holidays, checking in with them and their various struggles and triumphs with romance. It's since gone on to become a Christmas favourite, even spawning a "minisequel" last year. But you know who isn't an ardent fan of the film? Keira herself, who has apparently only seen it once (to be fair, I personally would rather fling myself off the nearest bridge than hear the sound of my own voice, so this seems understandable).
When she and Nutcracker and the Four Realms costar Mackenzie Foy recently down with Wired for one of their autocomplete interviews, she revealed she has no recollection of how the film ends, or who her character ends up with, which I find hilarious.
"Oh, I don't remember! Who do I end up with in Love Actually?" she stage whispers with a horrified expression. "I'm with my husband, aren't I? Aren't I with Chiwetel Ejiofor? Yeah? I've only seen it once, and it was a really long time ago. Am I? I don't go off with Andrew Lincoln?"
She did happen to recall where her character's home in the film was, however, immediately telling the camera that it's located in London's Notting Hill neighbourhood. In case you need a refresher — or in case you're reading this, Keira — let's take a quick, festive walk down memory lane to break down who her character truly does end up with.
So this is Juliet (Knightley) and Peter (Chiwetel Ejiofor), who begin the film by getting married.
During their wedding, they get surprised by a gorgeous choir performance arranged by Peter's best man, Mark (Andrew Lincoln).
This is Mark, by the way. He has awful taste in sweaters and treats Juliet like crap.
But, as we find out, it's only because he's in love with her, but never wanted to ruin anything for Peter.
That being said, he *does* show up on Juliet and Peter's doorstep to declare his feelings for her.
