Popsugar Entertainment Oscars Large Oscars Envelope Font 2018 The Oscars Avoided Another Envelope Mix-Up by Using This Comically Large Font 5 March 2018 by Kelsey Garcia Image Source: Getty / Matt Petit / A.M.P.A.S After last year's unforgettable envelope mix-up, the Oscars were especially determined to get things right this year. The Academy and accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers devised a plan with new rules and regulations to ensure that envelopes would not get lost or mistakenly presented during the wrong category. In addition, they debuted a giant new f*cking font. As categories were announced throughout the evening, viewers noticed the new Oscars envelopes features a foolproof font displaying the category very visibly on the back, so that everyone watching in the theatre and at home could plainly read it. Even so, Guillermo del Toro made sure to check the envelope before accepting his award for best picture. Do you blame him? Notice they have the categories printed on the front in GIANT FUCKING LETTERS this year #Oscars2018 pic.twitter.com/bBWdpR6zDG— KB (@KaraRBrown) March 5, 2018 1 / 14 That Best Picture envelope they showed was so clearly and distinctly labeled, like they found the most prominent font that exists 😂 #Oscars— lauren lowry (@loveandthelike) March 5, 2018 2 / 14 Love how the writing on the envelopes is big enough to be Dunaway-proof.#Oscars #Oscars90— Tom & Lorenzo (@tomandlorenzo) March 5, 2018 3 / 14 “Three Billboards” is also the font size on the envelopes this year. #Oscars— Scott Jordan Harris (@ScottFilmCritic) March 5, 2018 4 / 14 Just noticed the #Oscars envelopes have the categories splashed on them in 48pt font to make sure nobody gets Moonlighted. #Oscars2018 #justincase— Savortooth (@Savor_Tooth) March 5, 2018 5 / 14 Even those who are watching on TV will be able to read that giant font written on envelope. Brilliant. 👀— Nick Woollum (@Woollum86) March 5, 2018 9 / 14 Wow, the envelopes this year are REALLY not messing around when it comes to the labelling. Should've used papyrus font, though #Oscars— Matthew Mueller (@aManAboutFilm) March 5, 2018 10 / 14 I don't want to out myself as a total font nerd, but I am so appreciating the typefaces on the outer envelopes this year. #Oscars— Lindsay S (@LegallyLinz) March 5, 2018 11 / 14 Notice the oversized lettering on all the envelopes?
